booklet is based on questions commonly asked
by mothers. The objective is to provide general
guidelines to educate and empower mothers to
care for their children in a scientifically
correct manner. The author has also taken into
consideration the existing traditional practices
in relation to childcare in India. Therefore
the contents are based on a combination of available
scientific facts, as well as the personal experiences
and opinions. Detailed explanations have been
avoided in order to make the guidelines lucid
and brief.
This booklet will also serve as curriculum
for Malishwali Bais (Traditional Massage woman:
TMW) for their certification. The purpose is
to provide uniform opinions at all levels (including
grass root level) of health care system to avoid
confusion in a mother's mind.
